Art and Design

Our Art and Design curriculum fully engages children, harnesses their visual imagination and enables them to build on their knowledge and skills to express their creativity. The ‘Plan Bee’ scheme of work enables both effective progression and the opportunity for individual and independent expression through extended projects.

Our Artists

Knowledge: Our pupils will develop an understanding of techniques used by famous artists and factors that influenced their artwork.

Skills: Key skills associated with Art and Design include the development of painting and drawing, sculpture and 3D work, printing, textiles and collage. They will also learn how to use technology as an artistic tool.

Experiences: Children will use their skills to express themselves creatively. This includes using natural materials to produce collaborative artwork.

Celebrations

To engage our school community, we share and celebrate Hacton learning experiences on our school blog. View the latest Art and Design blogs here

Curriculum Planning

Careful curriculum planning ensures that our pupils build on existing knowledge and skills over the course of their Hacton learning journey. This leads to better understanding, knowledge retention and engagement.
