Hacton is a community primary school catering for children aged from 3+ to 11+ years situated in Hornchurch in the London Borough of Havering. It was originally opened in 1948, but in January 2017 the school expanded to 3 forms of entry and moved to a brand new state-of-the-art building. The site still enjoys ample field space behind it.
Phase 2 of our new school, including the demolition of the old school, landscaping, laying of a new school field and a new Key Stage 2 playground, was completed just in time for the start of the 2017/18 academic year.
Our Nursery accommodates sixty children on a part-time basis. Our Reception department has an admission number of 84 pupils plus hearing impaired pupils.
There is a Provision for Hearing Impaired Children in the School that is the only Primary provision for hearing impaired pupils in the borough. There is currently an admission level of 24 pupils.
Our governors play an important supportive role, with many of them adopting a responsibility and interest in particular areas of School life.
Hacton Primary School is a school with many dimensions. We are proud of our dedicated, caring staff who provide the children with a sound, exciting framework of education whilst encompassing the requirements of the National Curriculum and all that it entails.
