Computing

A Computer Scientist at Hacton Primary School will be able to access equipment, use programs and apps effectively including across cross-curricular subjects and be a programmer who has the ability to debug by working methodically. Our computing curriculum encourages children to be mindful of their digital footprint and know how to stay safe online.

Our Computer Scientists

Knowledge: Our pupils will develop an understanding of the fundamental principles of computer science, including logic, algorithms, data representation and communication.

Skills: Children will use their knowledge to write computer programs and debug code. They will be able to analyse problems in computational terms and be responsible, competent, confident and creative users of information and communication technology.

Experiences: Our pupils will use a range of technology to solve problems and become engaged, flexible learners.

Celebrations

To engage our school community, we share and celebrate Hacton learning experiences on our school blog. View the latest Computing blogs here

Curriculum Planning

Careful curriculum planning ensures that our pupils build on existing knowledge and skills over the course of their Hacton learning journey. This leads to better understanding, knowledge retention and engagement.
