Primary Languages

Our pupils are offered a relevant, broad, vibrant and ambitious foreign languages curriculum that will inspire and excite them through the use of a wide variety of topics and themes. Learning a second language will offer pupils the opportunity to explore relationships between language and identity, develop a deeper understanding of other cultures and the world around them with a better awareness of self, others and cultural differences.

Our Linguists

Knowledge: Our pupils will learn a range of vocabulary linked to topics and themes, with necessary grammar taught in an age-appropriate way across the primary phase.

Skills: Children will be able to demonstrate the four key language learning skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Experiences: Children will use role play in a range of scenarios to explore foreign languages in the different contexts.

Celebrations

To engage our school community, we share and celebrate Hacton learning experiences on our school blog. View the latest Languages blogs here

Curriculum Planning

Careful curriculum planning ensures that our pupils build on existing knowledge and skills over the course of their Hacton learning journey. This leads to better understanding, knowledge retention and engagement.
